A SHOPPING bonanza helped raise funds for St John's School for the Deaf in Boston Spa.
Staff at Crazy Tykes indoor play centre, Thorp Arch, agreed to host the event to help the school raise money for its Expressive Arts Resource (EAR) appeal.
There were stalls selling children’s clothes, cards, jewellery, books, bikes and refreshments, as well as Poteez disposable and biodegradable flat-pack potties. A portion of the proceeds was donated to the school’s appeal.
Headteacher Ann Bradbury said: “This is a lovely event and I am delighted that organisations in the local community want to support our appeal. We still need to raise about £240,000 before we can start building our Expressive Arts Resource but events such as this bring us closer to our target.”
Anyone who wants to support the appeal can contact St John’s School for the Deaf on 01937 842144 or earappeal@stjohns.org.uk.
