KIRK Deighton Countrywomen's Association celebrated 25 years of existence with an anniversary dinner at the Bridge Inn at Walshford.
Around 50 ladies attended the special event including past presidents of the Kirk Deighton branch Alice Sutcliffe, Doreen Marriott, Jacqueline Franklyn, Yvonne Storrs and Christine Drinkall.

The ladies were treated to a three course meal, entertainment from local singing group, The Songbirds, and a celebratory birthday cake.

The past presidents had the honour of cutting the cake before speeches were made and a toast was given to the success of the Countrywomen’s Association which has been running nationwide since 1983.

Kirk Deighton Countrywomen’s Association has a very strong membership with over 70 members and a long waiting list.

The popular group meet every second Thursday of the month at Deighton Gates Primary School at 7.15pm where it enjoys a speaker, discusses its business and offers members holidays both abroad and in this country.
