THEY can almost taste another Waddilove triumph but Bilton captain Carl Heptinstall has warned against complacency as his side prepare for Sunday's quarter-final showdown away at Calverley (2pm start).
The potential banana skin promises to be a tight affair with the home side desperate for revenge after their narrow defeat by Bilton in the competition two years ago.
Then only a triple-wicket maiden in the second to last over by Anthony Burton an
d Andy Walker holding his nerve with the ball was enough to snatch victory out of the jaws of defeat.
Bilton will be firm favourites to move through to a possible semi-final against either Otley or Adel with a final berth still very much on the cards.
However their skipper is still wary especially with the pressure on his side to perform.
“With the cup we can take nothing for granted as we know that Calverley are more than capable of turning any side over,” he said.
“But the winner has a home tie against either Adel or Otley and with all the big guns in the other half of the draw there is a real opportunity for a final appearance.
“And I’m sure that we are all thinking the same thing. All I hope is that the weather stays fine and we get a full game in rather than a twenty20 or the dreaded bowl out.”
Aussie opening bat Miles Corish will be available for the clash who replaces youngster James Orton.
James Ford and Jonathan Shrago are also brought in to cover all angles according to the skipper.
However before their big cup clash Heptinstall’s charges first have to navigate the threat of title-chasing Guiseley in the league tomorrow (home 1.30pm start).
The West Yorkshire side led by former Harrogate skipper Dave Pennett are currently five points clear of the chasing pack after their promotion from Division Two last season.
Heptinstall is also aware with the bottom two Collingham and Pool locking horns tomorrow his side have a superb opportunity to pull further clear of the relegation zone.
“Guiseley are top and from what I have been told are a very well drilled unit,” he said.
“This is our first experience of Guiseley since their drop but not of Dave Pennett.
