Thorner has a ball as villagers boost hall's refurbishment fund
The black tie Thorner Autumn Ball proved a popular event when it was held at the Victory Hall, as 185 people attended.
Although it was not a specific fundraiser, organisers said the proceeds from a raffle are going to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the ongoing refurbishment of the Victory Hall.

Hide AdSpokesman for the organisers Catherine Wilson said: “Thorner Victory Hall is not just your average village hall but one capable of holding a fabulous black tie event.
“Once again the people of Thorner village all pulled together to make this an unforgetable event.
“A committee of six local ladies organsed the Autumn Ball with villagers all coming together to help decorate the hall, raise the marquees and run the bar, all to raise money for the ongoing refurbishment of the Victory Hall and to raise awareness of the Yorkshire Air Ambulence.
“We had outstanding catering by Leeds-based caterers Juste Nous and the highlight of the evening was Il Destino, a surprise singing waiters experience.
The Autumn Ball followed up on the success of the Summer Ball held in July 2015.
