'Immediate action required' - Flooding expected in Knaresborough and Pateley Bridge due to Storm Ciara

Storm Ciara batters the Harrogate district: Flood warnings and key incidents to be aware ofA flood warning is currently in place for the river Nidd at Knaresborough Caravan Parks and Goldsborough Mill Farm. The Environment Agency said: "We are issuing the flood warning for the River Nidd at Knaresborough caravan parks due to localised heavy rain, associated with Storm Ciara on Sunday morning, causing rivers and watercourses to rise.
"Water levels at Knaresborough are currently 1.36m, and forecast to reach 1.7m at 1pm on Sunday 09/02/2020, peaking around 2.1m at 8pm on Sunday. Avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. We are monitoring the situation closely. Our Incident Room is open, and operational staff are out clearing trash screens."
Both warnings state that 'immediate action is required.'

The Environment Agency said: "We are expecting overtopping of defences at Pateley Bridge at about 11.45am today. The current level of the River Nidd at Pateley Bridge is 3.1m and is forecast to peak at 5.35m at 1.30pm on Sunday. We are monitoring the situation closely."
Harrogate Borough Council's Emergency Planning team tweeted: "Flooding is expected for riverside properties at Pateley and Bewerley, including the caravan park and cricket club. Overtopping of defences expected 11:45, peak level at 13:30 at 5.35m.
"Flood Warning - River Nidd at Knaresborough Caravan Parks and Goldsborough Mill Farm. Flooding is expected. River level forecast to reach 1.7m at 13:00 and peak at 2.1m at 20:00."
