TERRIFIC local rock band Kasiuss, who are currently Harrogate's great hope to breakthrough nationally, are headlining a major show at the Royal Hall next month.
The August 20 show will feature other talented local groups, including a school band chosen through a battle of the bands Kasiuss are organising at the Crown Hotel. You can get more info at www.kasiuss.co.uk/comp.html

CELEBRATE American Independence Day in Harrogate with some great roadhouse music from a vivacious young Muskogee-born singer.

Rock'n'Roll, Chicago Blues and Honky Tonk singer Stacie Collins will be appearing this Sunday, July 4 at The Blues Bar on Montpellier Parade in Harrogate courtesy of Kula promoters, rather than The Stonehouse in Knaresborough as first announced.

She will be at the Blues Bar from 8pm to midnight as part of a great double bill with Rob Reynolds.

Entry is free with donations.

Amongst other shows coming up from Kula are Adrian Edmondson and the Bad Shepherds on Saturday, August 21, again at The Stone House.

STRAWBERRY Jam music festival that is to take place in Bramham on July 24.

Organised by local singer Ridley Barbet who will also perform at the event, the bill also features acoustic artist Joe Solo, Owen Richards from The Grammatics, Holly Taymar, White Light Parade, Soul Circus, Jess Gardham and more.

It is hoped the festival will raise money to provide disabled toilets for the village hall to ensure it is retained for the community.

Tickets for the festival cost £10 and are on sale at Bramham village shop, Crash records leeds and MOR Music, York, or online at www.strawberryjammusicfestival.bigcartel.com

H BOMB Rocks the Amps proved a successful event at the Yorkshire Events Centre. Held as part of Hearts Festival and starring a host of great young groups who did well in the AMP Awards, I particularly enjoyed Matt and Joe of Mixed Tape doing a cover of The Kinks' Sunny Afternoon. Nearly as good as Ray Davies's version at Glastonbury on telly the next day.

IT'S relaunch night this weekend for Bottom of the Bottle, Harrogate's most popular regular rock night.

Having said farewell to Revolution after a successful spell there, BOTB starts afresh at Rehab this Sunday, July 4.

Coincidentally it's also BOTB's eighth birthday. The special night promises live music from Under Arches and Renfield with freebies from Roadrunner and Korn (to mark the release of the new Korn album) - plus drinks offers.
