IT'S here! Yes, the 2005 Knaresborough feva festival is launched today.
Ten days of music, drama, art, spoken word, comedy and culinary delights are about to begin and today's opening ceremony in the market place will ensure things get off to a feverish start.

Street entertainers, The Rapide Brothers provide two shows at noon and 2pm today and they are just the first of eight different outdoor entertainers kindly sponsored by The George A Moore Foundation.

Pink balloons, banners and bunting, not to mention feva pink plants and flowers adorn every corner across the town and programmes are being snapped up at every venue stocking them including the Tourist Information Centre, the office of the Knaresborough Post and the library.

Over the past three weeks, the Knaresborough Post has been giving readers a taste of what they can look forward to over the next ten days.
One of the featured local artiss is Adam King, last year's Artist in Residence at Knaresborough Castle whose work can be found at the Art Apartment gallery in Green Dragon Yard throughout feva and the summer months.
Hitherto unseen paintings resulting from his art residency have found their way 'back home' for residents and town visitors to enjoy.
For Adam, the atmosphere of the town's medieval ruin was a great source of inspiration, as was its everyday presence at the heart of the community.
Also on show at the gallery is an summer show called Picture Postcard which confronts our 'label' culture of today.
A large body of small six inch by four inch original artworks (all the size of a postcard) have been sent in from far and wide to be part of the exhibition. All the signatures have been hidden so the viewer chooses a favourite work on its own merit, not because of the name of the artist. You could be choosing the work of a long-established Slade artist or a talented new graduate.
The Art Apartment is also highlighting dramatic paintings by West Yorkshire artist, Norman Eastwood and sons Zachary and Sebastian.
Outside the gallery are striking flower sculptures, which sprouted overnight in time for the recent Knaresborough in Bloom competition, to lift the spirits of the judges out and about in the unpredictable weather.
Working amidst the outdoor pieces every day of feva, will be different artists to meet and chat with, as they demonstrate their varied skills and techniques.
For budding artists, tomorrow, Saturday, August 13, there will be a Drawathon from 11am onwards at the gallery. This open air figure drawing class is for people of all ages and abilities, with models sitting throughout the day for you to sketch.
For any further information, call Alison Breeze on 01423 867606. The Art Apartment@ The Mill, Green Dragon Yard, will be open every day of feva 11am-5pm.
