THE CLARO Community Archaeology Group is holding a 'finds/artefacts' day tomorrow.
Taking place at Knaresborough Castle, the event, which is part of the Festival of British Archaeology, is a chance for people to bring their own items to be recorded, identified and interpreted.
These include small finds such as coins, tokens, medals, flint tools, clay pipes, buttons, buckles, badges, pottery and harness fittings.
Specialists including Kevin Cale, from Community Archaeology Ltd, and David Evans, a York museum archaeologist, will be available from 11am to 4pm to examine and assess objects.
Items will be photographed, recorded and given an ID certificate with descriptions and details about its age and use.
Currently, the Claro Group is involved in a four-year project researching the archaeology and history of Scriven.
