FOLLOWING the installation of Knaresborough's unique Town Windows public artworks, children in the town will be given the chance to show off their imaginations and artistic talents, with a chance to win prizes.
Renaissance Knaresborough has launched a competition coinciding with the end of the school term.
Young people are invited to create surprising and entertaining designs, reflecting either aspects of Knaresborough's history and heritage or something
different using their imaginations.
Entry forms, featuring a pre-drawn window, are being distributed through schools and are available from Knaresborough Library.
The competition has four prizes of £20 in book tokens - one for each of four categories: Primary School age - heritage category and imagination category; and Secondary School age - heritage category and Imagination category.
Mark Firth, of Renaissance Knaresborough, said: “We’ve done 13 paintings around the town and, while we have no plans to do any more for now, we felt that there was some fun to be had designing more. We would love to see if kids have better ideas than we came up with.”
A display has been put up in Knaresborough Library showing the sketches the artists originally drew before completing the finished paintings.
The deadline for applications is Saturday, July 19.
The winners will be picked by artists who painted the original art works.
