A GROUP of six friends formed a team called Nuns on the Run and entered the Knaresborough Bed Race in June of this year, with their Moulin Rouge themed bed.
They were sponsored by many local businesses, including, Transdev, Ming Fin Restaurant, Clad Safety (T-shirts), David Audsley Hairdressing, John Dickinson Autosmart, and Katrina Killick (costumes).

The team raised a magnificent £1,500 for The Forest School in Knaresborough, and this was presented to them recently.

The school hopes to use the funds to purchase a custom-built bicycle for non-ambulant pupils, so they can enjoy the great outdoors. The team is already in training for next year’s race.

A school spokesman said: “The staff and pupils at The Forest School are very grateful for the support of the team, and appreciate all the hard work that went into raising this donation.”
