THE Mayor of Knaresborough's Civic Service took place last Sunday in Gracious Street Methodist Church.
Visiting dignitaries included Mayors and Mayoresses from Harrogate, Ripon, Boroughbridge, Tadcaster and Pateley Bridge, as well as local councillors, prospective MPs and invited guests from local organisations and groups within the town.

A packed church heard Rev David Ely speak about the Mayor, Coun Pam Godsell’s, second term of office representing the town and his sermons centred on trust, truth and authority.

Two readings were given by Coun Godsell and the Deputy Mayoress, Coun Mavis Clemmitt.

Refreshments were served following the service in the church hall.
