IN SPITE of poor weather this year, Knaresborough Horticultural Society Flower Show still featured plenty of attractive exhibits of flowers, fruit, vegetables and produce and there were some fascinating entries in the children's section.
The society's secretary, Joan Barton, said: "We are very grateful to our helpers and sponsors, especially for the backing of Knaresborough Town Council and Renaissance Knaresborough and, of course, all our exhibitors."

The society's Late Show will take place at the Great Yorkshire Showground, through Countryside Live, on Saturday, October 25 and Sunday, October 26.

Schedules are available from the Knaresborough Post, 90 High Street, the Tourist Information Centre, the library, Pets and Gardens or from Joan Barton on 01423 864357 or Mike Prest on 01423 869951.

The winners of the cups and trophies were as follows:

Champion Class for Fruit, Vegetables and Plants: P Ridsdale.

Knaresborough Cup, Best Exhibit: P Ridsdale.

George Chandler Memorial Trophy: P Ridsdale.

Mrs Hickson Cup: P Ridsdale.

M Prest Cup: P Morrell.
