WE ARE a thriving club, dedicated to the appreciation of flowers and the 'art' of flower arranging. We are constantly seeking to develop Knaresborough Flower Club and are delighted to attract new members to join us at our packed and varied programme.
This year has marked our coral anniversary and we have celebrated in style with various excursions, incluidng those to Yorkshire Lavender and beautiful gardens in Scarmpston and Grewelthorpe.

Our programme has included practical classes, where mem
bers have worked on individual displays, ranging from advanced to beginners level - all bound by a common love of flowers and a desire to work with beautiful natural materials. We have been highly entertained by a range of professional demonstrators showing style, sophistication and sparkle in their interpretations of set themes.

Our July demonstration by Vanesa Wellock - ‘Design with a Difference’ enthralled us with talented, inspirational and vibrant pieces on a grand scale. Members and guests were amazed and delighted by the striking arrangements of form, movement and colour combining to show the true beauty of the exquisite flowers used. This demonstration was another example of a highly informative and enjoyable club evening. As at every demonstration, the completed arrangements were raffled for the club members and guests to enjoy.

Our programme continues into the autumn with a workshop by Jean Lock entitled ‘Twigs, sticks and canes’ to be held on September 23 at 7.30pm in Holy Trinity Church Hall.

Future events such as our practical class ‘Halloween’ on October 28 and our Christmas demonstration on November 25 entitled ‘At home for Christmas’ with the very talented Derek Armstrong are open to members old and new.

Do come and join us. Develop your passion, extend your skills and let your imagination soar in a lovely, sociable club of like-minded flower lovers. All members are welcome, valued and helped to develop their own talents and creativity for pleasure.

Please contact our secretary, Jan Fletcher on 01423 864071 for details and further information.
