TOMORROW marks the 600th anniversary of the Shrine of Our Lady of the Crag, one of Knaresborough's unique attractions.
An Ecunemical Service organised by St Mary’s RC Church in Knaresborough to mark the occasion will take place at the Chapel of Our Lady of the Crag Shrine on Abbey Road, by the River Nidd, tomorrow at 2.30pm.

The chapel will be open from 10am to 5pm.

During the day, there will be a street collection and at Knaresborough House, between noon and 4pm, there will be displays of information and artwork about the shrine for visitors to enjoy.

Dr Chris Maunder, from the Chapel Group, will be giving a talk on Shrines of Mary in Britain at noon and at 4pm.

Booklets about the Shrine are available from The Bookshop, High Street, and also from the Castle Museum.

The day will finish with a quiz evening at Knaresborough House at 7.30pm in aid of the restoration of the Crag Chapel Knight, for which a fundraising target of £10,000 has been set.

Tickets for the quiz are £6, including supper, and are available in advance on 01423 865751.
