Quiz Night: The quiz night at the Blue Bell in Arkendale was well attended and there was a great deal of laughter and fun throughout the evening.
The food was very good with sumptuous cakes and unlimited tea and coffee, coutesy of Ken, the landlord. Many thanks to him and his team for their generosity and also to all who were involved in compiling and delivering what was an extremely entertaining quiz. In the region of £200 was raised for Church funds.
Arkendale WI: A short AGM followed by the normal meeting was held on Wednesday, November 4 in the Community Hall. New members are very welcome and membership is not restricted to ladies living in the villages that the new hall serves. The more the merrier!
Church: Although there will be an 8.30am Book of Common Prayer Communion service on Sunday, November 8, the main Remembrance service for the Benefice will be at Farnham Church, starting at 10.55am. While such services have long been associated with the two world wars it is a fitting time to remember too all the troops who have lost their lives in more recent wars and to remember those who continue to serve on our behalf in many corners of the world.
