THERE'S an invitation to step back in time to Medieval Knaresborough this Sunday, June 21.
Visitors will be able to enjoy Knaresborough Castle and the Museum between 11am and 4pm to discover what life was like in medieval times - and it's all free!

Entertainments include the jolly jester, archery demonstration, a medieval storyteller, birds of prey flying displays, feisty dragons and the dragon parade, battles, wandering medieval musicians, medieval artist, feasting and cookery, creating a medieval banquet in the arts and crafts area, get a medieval tattoo and play medieval games.

You can also visit the local community archaeology group to discover the work they are doing in Scriven, and visit St John the Baptist's, Knaresborough's medieval Church where you can find out more about the church. Refreshments are on sale in the church hall from 2pm.

You might like to visit the King's Tower and dark dungeon and discover the history of the Castle or explore the Courthouse Museum to find out more about Knaresborough's past as well as life in the Civil War and what it was like to live in a Castle like Knaresborough in the hands-on gallery.

There's a chance to try the new computer adventure game, Time Gate: The Prisoner of Knaresborough Castle, created by pupils from King James's School. This also has a virtual tour feature so that people can explore how the Castle might have looked in medieval times.

This event is run by Harrogate Borough Council's Museums and Arts service and part-funded by Renaissance Knaresborough.
