Popular Pets Day set for Bank Holiday weekend

THE popular Knaresborough Pets Day takes place on Bank Holiday Monday, May 5.
The event takes place at Knaresborough House from 11am to 4.30pm, if you'd like to go along and join in the fun.

In addition to charity stalls, tombolas and refreshments, there will be games and activities for all members of the family, especially the four-legged ones.

Entries for the Dog Show will be taken from 11am and include classes for puppies under six months in best condition, veterans over nine years in best condition, best crossbred and best pedigree, as well as the prettiest bitch, most handsome dog, and the dog with the waggiest tail!

There will also be a display by Harrogate Road Safety Dog Training at 1.15pm, which will give dog owners the opportunity to watch and learn.
Entries for Caged Pet classes will be taken from 11.30am to 12.30pm.
Classes include pet with the shiniest coat, most unusual,friendliest, pet with the sparkliest eyes or best name and the pet the judge would most like to take home.

There are also prizes for the best kept hamster, guinea pig or rabbit.
You can even enter your pet in the novelty dog classes, try the mini-dog agility, even encourage them to retrieve a sausage!

Among the stalls will be one run by Harrogate Cats Protection, with cat gifts, toys and home-made produce. Good-quality toys for cats and children will be on sale as well as new gifts, and there will be a tombola.
