Northern Aldborough Festival gets underway

THIS year's Northern Aldborough Festival has an exciting line-up for the two week event taking place from June 19 to July 5.
New for 2008 will be a Community Opera project involving some 70 children from Boroughbridge Primary School who will working with members of Opera Brava to put on a young persons' opera of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe on June 27.

Opera si
nger, Ann Murray DBE will be appearing on June 23 with sinfonia ViVA and making a welcome return is Sally Burgess, who in the company of her husband and friends will be celebrating the music of Richard Rodgers in a concert on July 2.

Add to that the fiery excitement of Argentinian performers Tango Siempre tomorrow evening, the Ripon Choral Society next Wednesday, June 25, cabaret from Hatstand Opera on July 1 and a swinging 60s finale event in the grounds of Aldborough Manor on July 5 and there's something for everyone.

Events take place in numerous venues across the district including Aldborough Curch, near Boroughbridge, Rudding Park Chapel, Harrogate's Wesley Chapel and Sun Pavilion and Stockeld Park in Wetherby.

The festival restaurant will be open after performances at Aldborough Church with varied menus if you'd like to eat out after the concerts.
