HENSHAWS Arts and Crafts Centre in Knaresborough is currently holding an exhibition of 'Gardens and Breathing Places.'
The work is the culmination of activities that have been taking place at the centre around the BBC's 'Breathing Places' initiative in 2006/2007.

With the help of a grant from the National Lottery, the Centre has been transforming areas of its sen
sory gardens into wildlife areas and breathing places over the past year.

The exhibition shows the progress that has been made with contributions from local schools, voluntary groups and interpretations from resident artists at the centre.

Karen Hood, Skills Manager at the Arts and Crafts Centre said: "This project has involved a lot of input from the local community, ranging from the schools who came in to do workshops on our Bat and Bird population and to help make roosting boxes, to large groups of volunteers who helped develop the garden.

"The exhibition is really a chance to show off the fantastic work that has been achieved and inspired by this project."

Taking place in the Café Gallery as well as in the gardens at the centre's Bond End site, the opening times are Monday to Friday 9am till 4pm. There is no entry admission but donations are welcome. Parking available on site.

The exhibition continues till November 22.
