KNARESBOROUGH Film Theatre's next showing will be Elizabeth The Golden Age.
Showing at the Frazer Theatre, Knaresborough on Wednesday April 16, the highly acclaimed film, certificate 12, stars Cate Blanchett and Geoffrey Rush.

Directed by Shekhar Kapur, the film focuses on the period in Elizabeth's life from her meeting with Sir Walter Raleigh through to the isolation by superpower Spain and the attempted invasion by the Spanish Armada.

The Knaresborough Players continue with their fund raising campaign and are attempting to raise £20,000 by the end of April, which will be match funded by the George A Moore Foundation, as part of their Lift Off campaign (Let's Improve the Frazer Theatre - Our Fighting Fund).

The film showings are helping raise money towards that total.

The film starts at 7.30pm. Doors open 20 minutes beforehand. Tickets are £5, concessions £4.50 payable on the door.

* The Frazer Theatre is at the back of Woolworths off the High Street.
