THERE'S a chance to spend a summer's evening enjoying some Shakespeare when the hilarious yet confusing tale of love, fairies and magic, A Midsummer Night's Dream comes to Knaresborough Castle.
Showing on Wednesday, July 22 at 7.30pm, Harrogate Borough Council's Museums and Arts service are once again offering people the chance to enjoy a Shakespeare play in the outdoor setting of the grounds of the Castle, and at the same ticket prices as the last three years.
The play will again be performed by Theatre of the Dales', a local group of professional actors.
Lysander loves Hermia, and Hermia loves Lysander. Helena loves Demetrius; Demetrius used to love Helena but now loves Hermia. Couples fall in and out of love at the drop of a petal, an ass of an actor is turned into one, even the Fairy King and Queen are losing their cool – it's all happening in the wood this night. Or maybe it's all just a midsummer night's dream.
Limited seating will be available but you're advised to bring your own seats if possible; soft drinks will be on sale. Whatever the weather, the play will go on. It lasts approximately two hours.
Tickets priced £10 and £8 are available from Knaresborough Castle and Museum, the Tourist Information Centre, the Royal Pump Room Museum and the Mercer Art Gallery. You can also email museums@harrogate.gov.uk with a contact number or call 01423 556188.
