Hooded knife man threatens staff in Harrogate armed robbery

STAFF at a Harrogate shop were left shaken after a hooded man threatened them with a knife before making off with cash.
The incident happened at the McColls convenience store on King Edward's Drive at about 10.20pm yesterday, Thursday, June 5.

The man entered the store, brandishing a knife. He demanded money and then fled with the cash towards the Albany Road area of the town.

A spokesman for Harrogate Police o members of staff were injured, although they were left shaken by the ordeal.

The suspect is described as 5ft 9in to 6ft tall, medium to stocky build, aged between 20 and 30, and he was wearing a dark hooded jacket.

Harrogate CID is appealing for witnesses who were in the shop just prior to the incident, in the area around this time, or anyone else who may have information that could help identify the offender.
