St Aelred's Friendship Group

THIS month members of St Aelred's Friendship Group were taken back in time and given the chance to taste historical food by speaker Elspeth Johnson from Hull. As well as talking to adult groups Elspeth visits schools to teach history to children giving them the opportunity to learn to cook the recipes and wear the costumes of the particular period they are interested in. She cooked several dishes whilst talking about her work and afterwards members were given the opportunity to have a taste
Humour in Uniform is the title of Tom Darwen's talk at the April meeting. Speaker's topics are varied and are arranged to appeal to men and women of all ages. Visitors and new members are always welcome at the meetings held on the third Wednesday in the month in St Aelred's Church Hall, Woodlands Drive, Harrogate from 1.45-3.45pm.
